On Christmas Eve, I drove my new car over to Miami to visit friends. First I went to the campground and wished people a Merry Christmas and explained that I will come with my home at the end of January. Then I went over to Jeanne & Laurie's to have a very nice Italian dinner of lasagna, meatballs, sausage and peppers, salad, and bread.
Laurie's sister and brother-in-law, Connie & Dann, came down from Boynton Beach with 2 of their daughters, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter. They exchanged gifts after dinner, and then we had pie and ice cream while watching taped Christmas shows. The toddler, Ashley, started to watch but was soon distracted by going in and out of the doggie door!
On Christmas day, we met at Hollywood Beach to enjoy the sunshine and continue a tradition that many Floridians have if they live near the beach. Connie brought the Christmas tree to complete the look! We ate turkey and ham sandwiches with potato salad. Dessert was a birthday cake to celebrate Lynn's 50th birthday that occurred shortly after Thanksgiving. Gette and Rosemary drove down from West Palm Beach and I surprised them because they didn't know I was coming. My car was a surprise also.
If not having a white Christmas in cold country, celebrating the holiday at a warm sandy beach is the best way to do it!
