some perspective to the sudden appearance of large rocks

the view to the southeast

Joan & Jane had to leave early int the morning, but the rest of us went to a pancake breakfast put on by the campground before packing up and heading out. Lots of hugs all around, wishes for safe travel, invitations to visit when passing through hometowns, and promises to keep in touch with each other.

I stopped 3 times during the 218 mile trip today! The first one was at a station called Gas City but the gas was very expensive there, so I only filled the tank part way. I stopped for lunch at one of my more memorable rest stops - the Texas Canyon in eastern Arizona where there are huge rocks after seeing regular desert scenes. An hour from my destination, I stopped at a Flying J and filled up the tank at a more reasonable rate.

I'm at an Escapees park in Deming where I've stayed before. It's basically a gravel field with hookup stations in rows, near I-10 at the eastern part of town. I will update pictures tonight and tomorrow, hoping to get caught up with the month of November before it's over!
