Ginny's Adventures 2010 travel blog

Just like when we left Amado at the beginning of the caravan, we left San Carlos at 6:30 AM! Drive speed was 50 mph at most with 2 15 minute breaks in the morning, a half-hour lunch break, and stops at an inspection station, immigration, and customs. After customs, where they took away poultry and pork products, fruits and vegetables and at least one house plant, we drove up Route 19 to a rest stop to wait for everyone to get there. Those of us who got there first were on our phones making calls to loved ones. Once everyone was at the rest stop, we traveled 60 mph to try to get to the RV resort in Tuscon before dark, but we didn’t quite make it. It was about 6 PM when we all got parked in our spots. We are all glad to be back to familiar surroundings, but we are near a major airport! Oh well, can’t have everything! We all took advantage of the free cable TV here and everyone is watching their favorite shows this evening!
