Indian Lakes Thousand Trails, Batesville, Indiana

Rock Regional Church and Drive to Batesville

We got up early enough this morning to get ready for church and to get unhooked and drop the RV off at The Rock's new building. We figured it would be easier to leave it there than to have to go all the way back to Marseilles to get it before hitting the road for Indiana.

We drove on over to the grade school and parked the car. It's funny when you go back some place like that even as an adult. The trees look bigger, the gym looks smaller, etc. They had things all set up so we visited for a little bit before service started. The kids were going to stay in service this morning because of it being the Fifth Anniversary service. It was nice to sing along with the worship team even though some of the music was new the voices were familiar.

I heard Judy say something about going back to be with the toddlers at one point and just felt like she should be be in the service so I told Tom I was going to go back and take the kids. I figured he could fill me in on how the service went. Colin, Zoe and Anna were the only three back there. They were all as good as gold. As long as I kept ordering from Zoe and Colin's restaurant and held Anna we were good to go.

After service we had a little bit of time to talk with a few people then helped pack things up for the other building. They had trailers, trucks and cars all ready to hual stuff over to the new building. Once things were loaded up we followed them over and helped carry a few things inside. The group formed a circle in what will be their new worship room and held prayer time. Charles announced that there would be a Thanksgiving dinner at their house at 2:00. It would have been nice to stay but with a six hour drive ahead it just wasn't realistic. At least we had the chance to be there for the anniversary celebration.

We hooked up the Yukon aftewards and said good bye to Dean and Jimmy. That was hard but at least it's not for a long time this time. Hopefully we'll see each other again before Christmas. We decided to go ahead and hit Wendy's Value Menu for lunch just to save time then hit the road. Jonathan and I ran across the tracks while Tom was getting the GPS set up then we ate and started driving.

We got to Indianapolis around 6:30 and stopped at the Flying J to get fuel and propane. Once that was taken care of I called Sheila to let her know we were in Indy. She said it takes about an hour and fifteen minutes to get from Indy to their house. I asked if she wanted us to call when we got there and she said just to honk the horn when we went by. I thought that was a pretty clever idea. I told Jonathan what she said and asked him if he wasnted to do it when the time came. Of course, he was all over that!

When we were getting close to the house he came up front and got ready. Jonathan blew the horn twice then two more times. It worked. We got checked in and were picking out our campsite when Sheila and Josh pulled up in the van. It was great to see them. The Bears were playing tonight so we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see him. He'll never live that one down. We got backed into the site and parked the Yukon. Tom took care of the hook-ups while Sheila and I and Josh and Jonathan visited for a while. Josh put the slides out for us. I think he thought that was pretty cool. He did a good job. It had been a long day and Josh had school the next morning so we said our good-byes for the night and they headed back to the house.
