Tuesday, June 27, we drove to Houston. It was about a three-hour drive on a very good interstate. Not real heavy traffic, which was good. It did get heavy, of course when close to Houston. Arrived at the Red Dot RV Park by mid-afternoon. No one was in the office when we arrived, so we just picked a spot and parked. Not a great RV park, the weeds needed to be mowed and the mosquitoes were very hungry, but the place was close to the airport. That was the reason we chose this RV park.
Wednesday, June 28, I drove to the airport to pick up Michelle, Brooke, Tracy and Devin. It was only about a 15-minute drive and their plane was early, so we were back to the RV by about 11:00 am. We had lunch and packed up the RV and headed for the RV park that was down closer to the Galveston. Actually it is at Kemah,Texas which is at the edge of Galveston Bay. It took only an hour and we arrived at the Marina Bay RV Park by mid-afternoon. Very nice, new park but no shade and the parking pads were close to each other. Again no one was in the office but a note at the desk said pick a spot that had an orange cone on it, so we did. The kids wanted to swim right away so they did. They said the water was nice and warm. After the swim we had the GPS system find us a Mexican restaurant for dinner. Pretty good food except everybody thought the salsa was too hot, but it was fine to me.
