Left California on Saturday and drove all of about 50 miles to Brookings-Harbor,Oregon. Planned to meet friends Ivan & Nancy from Florence,Az park we stayed at and it turned out to be a "Rancho Sonora" reunion as Georgia and Elaine were there too. They are heading up to Crater Lake to camphost this summer. Sure is nice the way we keep traveling and ending up meeting the same people and new ones too. We stayed at Driftwood RV park and I think its the BEST one here.Nice friendly people and owners.. Left Monday to head the coast and decided to stop by Hauser for the Oregon dunes Recreation area to do some 4 wheeling on the dunes and the beach. Will need to do more research on Federal lands for camping as we weren't sure we could get into the campground so the national reservation people told us to try Myrtlewood Factory for overnight. OH yeah, a big completely empty parking lot marked out for 80-100 spots just for 4 wheeler people, no services, not even a garbage csn and no one there until the am when they informed us it was $20. a night to stay, so we payed and left.. The road to the dunes riding area, sand and very roller coaster like bumps for a long ways, then you get to some really neat dunes with small ponds of water and areas of trees and finally not very well marked to the beach. It was fun and Dave enjoyed himself alot so we will try to find another spot along the coast as Oregon has a lot of OHV(off highway vehicle) riding areas in the dunes and coast area. Will leave today,Tuesday to head inland to Eugene,Or. where AM solar is located(these are the people who we got our solar equipment from)
