Monday, July 24. Free parking at the Rally grounds Friday night through Sunday night. Several rally folks left Saturday morning and again Sunday morning, but is was still surprising how many folks were still there Monday morning when we headed across the highway to the service center at Winnebago. I described the 4 items I had concerns about to the service technician, Debbie. She said to return at 3:00 pm. Carol, Sadie and I left our home in her care and went to do laundry, lunch, wash the car, shop and visited a park to kill some time. Sadie did fine at the Laundromat. No one told us to leave with the dog and she just slept under our chairs. We returned at 3:00 and the motor home was finished. They got everything done and everything seems to be fine. It turns out every motor home they were working on was brought out at 3:00 and shift change for the assembly plant was at 3:00 also. It was a busy place around there. Since 3:00 is too late to start out on the road, we requested a spot in their complimentary campgrounds they have for the service center. They said, no problem, but they said you had better hurry and go grab a spot before they are all gone. We did hurry and got one of the last available.

Tuesday, July 25, we drove to Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was about a 2-hour drive, but like most of our trips, it took us longer with stops for fuel, lunch and Wal-Mart shopping. We arrived at the Town & Country Campgrounds mid-afternoon. Nice campgrounds but cost more than most places just like this one, so we plan to stay only two nights.

Wednesday, July 26, we went to the Mall of America. It is a huge 4-level shopping mall, with Camp Snoopy the amusement park in the center of the Mall. Of course, us old folks didn't ride any rides, but we did enjoy watching all the kids having fun. There are also lots of eating choices and lots of shops. There is also an Aquarium in the basement but when we saw the charge of $16.95 a person, we decided not to do that. We have been to two aquariums not too long ago, anyway. Everything is inside the building so the climate control was nice since it was getting warm that day. We were tired by the middle of the afternoon, so returned to the RV. Thursday we are heading to Hastings, Minnesota. It is only about 14 miles from River Falls, Wisconsin, which is were the Kansas City Chiefs have their pre-season training camp. I plan to check them out and see what they look like. They start two a day practices on Saturday the 29th. There is also a train ride about 25 miles from there, so we may check that out also.
