Tuesday, August 15, we drove to Niagara Falls, Ontario. It was a five and half hour drive. When we got to the Canadian boarder, we showed our ID's and birth certificates and were asked the anticipated questions. She then told us to pull over to the side building. Another girl told us to take the dog and step out of the RV. We did and then two other girls came over and all three of then went in the RV and started to look around inside. About 3 or 4 minutes later they came out and told us we could go on our way. We arrived at Scott's Trailer Park late afternoon. When we talked to all the others in the tour group we found out we and two others were the only ones out of the 21 rigs that were pulled over and inspected inside. All the others just had to show ID's and answer the typical questions and were allowed to go on their way. One couple was detained about an hour and then allowed to go. I guess some of use looked more suspicious than others or maybe it was just the luck of the draw? That evening we either walked or drove a half a block to the dinner theater titled "Oh Canada! Eh?". It was a song and dance show, where the waiters served us and then also did their part in the show. It was a full course dinner served family style. We were served chicken , beef and fish with all the trimmings, plus a cute show.

Wednesday the tour bus picked us up and took us to breakfast and then a tour of the area. It included a tour of the city and the falls, a ride on the Maid of the Mist boat, tour of Niagara River, the whirlpool area, Butterfly House and to an area winery with tasting. We were returned to the campground about 3:45 and then picked up again at 4:45 to go to dinner atop the Skylon tower overlooking the falls. What a view as the elevators ascends the outside the tower and then what a view during dinner. Also it was a great buffet dinner. If you have been following my descriptions of our tour you will notice we have had a lot of great meals. I am sure we both have gained some weight from all this eating. The bus then took on some more sightseeing and a walk along the rapids of the Niagara River. As dusk was approaching, we were returned to the falls in time to see the colored lights illuminate the falls. What a busy day and all of us were tired.

Thursday was an unscheduled day but eleven of us decided to go get a helicopter ride above the falls. This was not part of the tour package. Carol had planned to do this with me also, but by that morning she was so tired she decided not to go. That afternoon Carol and I went shopping and ate out. That evening we retuned to the Skylon tower to watch the lights on the falls from the tower. What a great view, again.

Friday is the official end of the tour. We all met at the leader's rig for donuts and coffee to say goodbye to everybody. Everyone packed up and left. We left about 10:30 and we were about the last to leave.
