Because our last trip down I-5 ended up with a broken wheel thanks to the rough highway, we chose to go down Hwy 99. We took the exit at Los Banos and drove out through all the farming fields and fruit/nut orchards. Beautiful drive and not a bad road once out of Los Banos. Lots of construction on 99 especially in the Fresno area, but not too rough a ride. We pulled into our favorite California RV Park. New rules on picking oranges, but we got our usual bag full. The next day we took a drive out to Lake Isabella to see the water level as the last time here, we could nearly walk out to the middle of the lake. Lots more water! We attempted to leave by way of SR155, but getting to the top of the mountains found snow and ice so turned around and came back down and around the northern/eastern part of the lake and back out the way we came in. Visited the California Fruit Depot and bought Cara Cara oranges which happen to be our favorite and ones that they don't always have. Found our favorite snack mix and fruit gems, plus some great green olives. All set!!!!!!! Here for 3 nights.
