Traveling to Red Bay for Repairs at Tiffin

We got up at 6:00 this morning to start packing to get on the road for Red Bay, Alabama. After packing up the RV, taking the satellite dish apart and unhooking, we pulled out of the campground at 8:30. A little later than we had hoped but not too bad.

We drove for about three hours then pulled into a Flying J for fuel and lunch. They had The Weather Channel on in the restaurant so we were watching that while we ate. They were showing the satellite view and it was looking like there would be storms and possibly tornadoes coming through the area where we would be driving. We decided just to sit tight and watch things. When the storm got past us, we got back on the road again. We were glad we waited. There were two areas that had lots of debris along the road where it looked as if a tornado or at least very heavy winds had come through. It meant arriving at Tiffin quite a bit later but better to be safe than sorry.

I called my mom's house to let her know we were okay. Everyone was there celebrating my nephew Jordan's birthday so that was nice. He's thirteen this year so he's a teenager. Hard to believe. Time goes so fast.

We pulled into the Allegro Campground around 8:30. It was dark but the sites were easy to get into and the place is well enough lit that we were able to get hooked up okay. One thing we did see today that I had never seen before other than on TV and on video was a cotton field. The plants caught my eye and when I realized what it was I thought "Wow, pretty cool."

Tom will have to work in the morning so after driving all day, I'm sure he's tired out.
