We got up in the morning and headed over to Concord, the state capital, driving on scenic, winding minor highways. Once again we were allowed to wander at will in the capital building, and walked around the grounds as well viewing the statues and monuments. Out on the street in front the town had hung scarecrows from the street lamp poles everywhere, and there were lots of lovely old buildings and churches everywhere as well. Then we hopped onto a freeway and headed west.
