A small herd of deer bade us farewell as we left the park. The next few days were spent wandering the rural roads in search of wildflowers and in observation of life in rural Texas. We found the people to be friendly, helpful and very proud of their state, keeping it very clean. We saw school children. lead by their teachers. picking up trash from the streets. It looked like it was a scheduled class activity. In any case we did not see litter anywhere.
