Cam-Plex, Gillette, WY

Estes Park to the Gillette Walmart

We did things around the RV this morning getting ready to pull out around 3:00 this afternoon. We got a little bit of a scare when one of the men who works at the campground came knocking at the door around 12:00. He was telling us we needed to be checked out. We had made arrangements to check out late today when we extended our stay. He radioed back to the office and they had made a note of it so things worked out OK.

Tom's meeting got canceled so we were able to get ready and were pulling out around 1:30. The family behind us were wanting our site so they would be able to get it a little earlier than they thought this way.

Our drive was about 7 ½ hours today. We drove through a Natural Grasslands Area at one point. That was pretty cool. Wide open space. We saw several deer, antelope and even a few buffalo! :-) We arrived in Gillette around 7:30. We had decided to stay at the local Walmart for the night since we needed to make a Walmart run anyway. There are several rigs parked here. We walked over to Perkins to grab a bite to eat then Jonathan and I went to Walmart to pick up a few things. We had a pretty good list since we hadn't been near a town that had a Walmart for a while. Tom stayed back at the RV and worked a little bit more.
