Sunday, March 22, 2009. San Benito Thousand Trails, Paicines, CA Driving From the Flying J Truck Stop to Paicines We woke up this morning at a Flying J Truck Stop parked between two semi tractor trailers. We wanted to get out of Yosemite last night so we could be sure to hook up with our friends at the San Benito Thousand Trails and with the snow that was predicted we figured we'd better get out before night fall. We were thinking about a Wal-mart but a Flying J came along before a Wal-mart did so that sounded pretty good. We went ahead and had dinner at the restaurant inside then came back out to the RV and went to bed. When we woke up this morning there were several trucks who had pulled out but we only had a couple hours to drive so we weren't in any hurry. We find that when we leave the front curtains closed it's real easy to forget where we are. We laid in bed and talked and tickled Jonathan for a while. (I got tickled too though. Jonathan and I just don't think it's fair that Tom's not ticklish.) Once we were all awake and up we had a leisurely breakfast and hit the road. We needed some shampoo and other odds and ends so we were looking for some place along the way to pick that stuff up before we got to the campground. We spotted a Target so we stopped there. As it turned out, it had a pretty good grocery store in it too even though it wasn't a Target Greatland so we lucked out. We stocked up on a few things then hit the road again. We arrived at the campground sometime between 4:00 or 5:00. Our friends, the Evans, had been here for a few days already and were expecting us. They have two boys, Kelby and Conner. Kelby is a little older than Jonathan and Conner is a little younger so they were all excited to see one another. We visited for a while then got things set up. The evening was spent grilling out together and visiting. We're looking forward to the rest of the week.
