wildflowers and the Sacramento River

Well, we missed the Escapade but arrived in Chico on Thursday afternoon and found a place to park near our friends and made happy hour. We had a good visit and met up with some "Class of 2005" members(we had joined but couldn't make their get together in Quartzsite. So got to visit with them, went out to supper at Home Town buffet-Too much good food but a nice break from our dry camping cooking lately. Left Chico Friday after many hugs and see ya later down the road, Bob & Diana are heading south and we will meet up with them in the Redwoods after we get the Teton (our trailer) MVP(ultra-violet protection) done at Redding. We got a treatment every year for 5 years when we purchased it from Dan Gamel's RV last year. That is scheduled for Monday am. Found a place to park till then(Thanks Linda & Gord-for suggesting the free campground book.)We are at Sacramento River Bend BLM area and its great. Pretty site, Pretty warm too but went for a 4 wheel ride to Massacre flats and saw the Sacramento River, we also have a "Bass Pond" area just behind our parking area. Will try to get back to update this when we get to the Redwoods. Bob & Sharon suggested a short(70mile) detour south of where we will come to the coast, but he said "You have to do the Avenue of The Giants" so we will. More later, Just journeying on and enjoying it soo much.
