Tiffin Plant Tour and Visiting Norris Lewis' Baby Goats

Tom is working by 7:00 in the mornings and is in his meetings by 8:00. Jonathan and I have breakfast and then go about our daily routine. Although today, our routine was different. We were going to go on the Tiffin Factory Tour today. Jonathan focused on his Bible reading, writing, and language arts then we headed out.

When we arrived at the Visitor's Center, I was greeted with a Tiffin pen and Jonathan received a frisbee. The man who was leading the tour, his name was Red. He was 81 years old. He had grown up in Red Bay and raised his family here as well. He took us through the plant from the end to the beginning and back again. He showed us all the steps involved in building an RV. Jonathan even had the chance to help out on one of the RV's! He knew a lot of the people who were working on the line and a lot of their parents as well. Everyone seemed to know him too. They greeted him as we walked through.

Once the tour was done, Jonathan and I headed back and did laundry while we finished reading our books to each other. Jonathan had been reading The Corn Grows Ripe to me and I've been reading Walk the World's Rim to him. They're both good books.

When the laundry was finished, we headed out to Norris Lewis' farm. He works here at Tiffin's repair facility and is the County Commissioner. We were running a little late because I had two loads that didn't get dry the first time through. (I was washing all the bedding and blankets today since I had access to large machines.) Anyway, we got out there around 5:30. I just about got the Yukon stuck in the mud (forgetting that I had 4-wheel drive). Norris drove up about that time and invited us to jump into his truck and he took us to the back fields where the cattle were. He called them up to where we were standing so we could pet them. Jonathan thought that was pretty cool. I even petted the bull. :-/ There were two goats born today, so he took us over to where they were so we could see them. That was pretty cool. Next came the tractor ride. Jonathan got to ride the tractor and drive. What fun!
