Carlsbad RV Park and Campground, Carlsbad, NM

A Quiet Day at Home

Today has been spent getting caught up on things around the RV. Tom's been working. Jonathan finished his stuff in record time and I've been updating the website and trying to get things packed and ready to hit the road tomorrow.

We will be pulling out in the morning and headed towards White Sands National Park where the sand looks like snow. It will be a stop over for the night then on to Apache Junction in Arizona on Sunday. We should arrive in time to take Tom's mom out for dinner on Mother's Day if all goes well.

We'll be spending the week in a campground just two miles from them so that worked out nice. Tom is going to work most of the week but we'll get to spend our evenings together.

Tom and Jonathan met one of our neighbors a couple sites down the other day. When Jonathan took the trash out today, he came back saying that we had been invited to come play Guitar Hero. When we walked down, I had the chance to meet Heidi. Her husband John is overseeing the construction going on at Carlsbad Caverns. They are from Idaho and have been down here since November. Heidi and I decided to go out for dinner and then to the River Walk for a little while. Jonathan went with us. It was nice getting to see the rest of the town before we had to leave.

Jonathan called Ricky this evening. The two of them talked for quite a while. I told Jonathan I wanted to talk with Vickie before he hung up. We talked for a while then the boys asked if they could have the phone back and went at it again. :-)

It's time to call it a night. Tomorrow will be a fun but long day. We'll be getting up bright and early and getting on the road between 8:00 and 8:30. Hopefully, we will arrive at our next campground by noon.
