Carpenters Arrive at San Benito

This morning was one we had been looking forward to because we knew Rich and Carol would be arriving sometime today. Rich and Carol are the first fellow RVers we met when we bought the RV. We met them in Livingston, Texas almost two years ago when we took the RV from Florida, where we bought it, to Texas to have it registered and licensed. They were camped across the street from us in the campground and Jonathan wanted to have a party and invite them and Paulette, our other neighbor, to dinner one night.

We decided to order carry out pizza (because we didn't have any pots or pans yet) and I had to borrow a bowl from Carol in which to make a salad. That was the beginning of our friendship with Rich and Carol Carpenter. Our paths have crossed a few times since then. Sometimes we've planned it and sometimes it's been quite accidental as if Somebody Else orchestrated it. We met in Gloucester, VA one time over Thanksgiving weekend entirely by surprise and shared Thanksgivng Dinner. That was very nice. Other times in Illinois, Florida and now in California, their home state.

We spent the afternoon catching up. Rich took Jonathan for a motorcycle ride on their new bike. That was exciting. We all had dinner and spent the evening visiting and catching up on what had been going on with one another since we had seen each other last.
