I feel as though this trip has flown by so fast, but I also feel like I have been away for so long. It's a weird contradiction. Singapore has been a great place to be and I highly recommend visiting if you ever have the chance (actually, I highly recommend most of the places I have been!). One of the most unique things that I have done while I have been here was to goto the "Night Safari" at the Singapore Zoo. They have set this zoo up so that many of the animals are not caged, but rather in natural surroundings with strategically designed landscapes to act as a barrier. The zoo is set in a rain forest setting, so you really do get the effect of being on a real safari as you hike through some of the trails and are able to get close to some of the animals. It was probably the best zoo experience that I have ever had. I have enjoyed exploring the city as well. There is a very vibrant Chinatown and Little India here and I have also done a little shopping on Orchard Rd (very famous street for shopping here...it has a similar feel as Michigan Ave in Chicago). Tonight I am heading down to Clarke Quay (cute area with lots of bars and resaturants on the river) with friends to have dinner and drinks before heading to the airport in the morning. So much for sleeping tonight...I have to leave the hostel at 3:30am to make my 6am flight! Ugh!!!
