My adventures around the world travel blog

with Hilde at Mamiri

I was ready to move on - to the Northern Peninsula, Playa Tamarindo where the surfing is first-rate, the beaches are beautiful and the town is laid-back. Hilde and I became friends and she joined me. We found attractive rooms at the peaceful and charming Hotel Mamiri, owned by Maurizio, an Italian who travelled the world and finally settled in Costa Rica. The place is furnished in Indonesian style.

That eve Hilde and I had a delicous dinner at Pachanga where I met Walter. The next days I had a very good time (besides the cold that I suffered from): cool places to have a drink (Hotel Kalifornia Bar), the wild spot in town is the Mambobar, which attracts a dedicated young crowd who are into sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll, good (and expensive) restaurants... pura vida as the Ticos say!
