4/11/12: Havasupai means People of the Blue Green Waters. The color of the water here amazes me every time I look at it. There is a high lime and magnesium content to the water which gives it the indescribable color that is impossible to capture on my camera. Today we cross the creek at Havasu Falls to trek into Carbonate Canyon. It is a quick in and out with a stop at an old mine. Lots of boulder scrambling (my favorite!). A fun hike with a very windy picnic at the falls after. later that day I walked back to the falls by myself and took a quick swim at the falls - BRRRR! Kathy wandered by and snapped a pic of me in the water which I don't have yet to upload here. A wonderful day!
