Wednesady noon here at the school, a bit quiet since the students were dismissed today due to the rain. When it rains, there is thunder and lighning and lots of flooding. Like southern CA, the ground doesn't know what to do with all the rain at the start. Everyone is happy for the rain, grass and mushrooms will grow in the desert.
Tuesday morning we were given a guided tour of the new dental school/hospital.
Very nice facility, the men should be in there by the summer time and ??? about the women. Very spacious, and nice, some of the things wouldn't work in the us, But privatcy is of the utmost importance especially with the ladies, so it makes it a bit more difficult to cover clinic, but it is a great dental school, some of the equipment will make us drool!!
The dean was there with the peds dental staff for a tour also. Connected by a bridge is the area when they do there labs and classed, multiple labs, and all the research instruments
you would possible want are here. It is a well equipped school.
After lunch, went to lecture and covered my last clinic, it will be sad to leave, I have met some great people. Students are the same here as home, some really sharp and some just stare at me, gave all the faculty and demonstrators, little thank you gifts.
Last night we went to eat with Dr Hegazi and his mom, Dr. Dalal, we went to a Japanese place but also had Italian next door so we looked at menus. I had pumpkin soup, grilled veggie with fried Sheep cheeses and Grandma's Grandma's Apple Pie
(a good try but mom's your is better. You will also see Saudi Champagne (non-alcoholic)
and Dr. Abramovitch's Seafood Spaghetti
. A very nice time and conversation.
Still raining when we headed home and went to bed, Fahad said that there was a Thunderstorm in the night, but I must have slept through it. It was raining quite hard so the roads are flooded in places as you can see.
But we got here safely, students have the day off, due to the rain but faculty are here. I give a CE tonight, the auditorium leaked a bit, but they were vacumning this morning, This morning we looked at an interesting cane with Dr. Abramovitch and Dr. Jehan, lots of Residents looked on. I assured dad that he was in good hands with Dr. Jehan. Now just have my PB and J, lecture at 8PM tonght, not sure how the turn out will be, but going head with it.
To the US in 2 days, will be sad and happy to leave. Will miss the people greatly, but not so much my hija and not driving,
Have a great Wednesday, Blessings
