We drove across the river today to Laughlin so I could put something in the mail. Afterwards we went for a drive to check out some of the local area. We found a park across the river with hiking and biking trails, which we will definitely have to check out more thoroughly next year. We also drove a few roads on the Arizona side and discovered something I thought was really scary. Being from Colorado I was used to seeing runaway truck ramps. They consist of a designated roadway up a hill and paved with deep gravel. Not so here! It was a designated roadway, but it was down hill. It was paved with gravel, but ended with a small pile of gravel and then an abrupt drop off. I pity the poor trucker who doesn’t get it stopped before the end!
