Put to bed in Bellemont (near Flagstaff)

New dot on the map Tom!!

Howdy from Flagstaff, AZ! (OK, from Mt Pleasant, UT now).

Well – we did it! Got off on Sunday the 14th as planned. Saturday was a LONG and rough day though. After fueling, hooking up, saying our goodbyes and taking care of all the last minute stuff, we got on the road about 10:00. Not bad considering! We drove the 300 miles to Flagstaff without incident except for two slow downs for wrecks. Stupid drivers! Once again, I towed the trailer with the MH.

We landed in Flag around 5:00 and checked into two sites at the Woody Mountain RV Park on Route 66. It got down to freezing overnight. Monday was another busy day. I winterized the MH (it will still be below freezing here at night). We then drove just west to the Pilot truck stop for fuel and lunch then the storage facility where we had rented a space. It took about 4 hours to finish what we wanted to do: park it, set up solar lights, battery minders, leave plenty of things to discourage varmints, cover water heater and furnace vents, etc., etc. We drove into town a little later and enjoyed dinner at Raising Cane’s – fast food but good food. Then some limited shopping before returning to the She Shed. It sure is small!!!

Before leaving Benson we finally made it down to the German Café in Sierra Vista with our friend John. Excellent food, we’ll return. We also made it a point to go to our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Benson area, Mi Casa. And we got to spend some time with friends Tom and Deb. Remember them? They had spent the winter in Yuma and stopped to see the Benson area and us on their way east. They seem to be enjoying the near fulltime lifestyle. They spend part of their time in their condo in Myrtle Beach.
