Mar 4, 2017 - monument Beach Georgetown, Exumas

March 4 Weather was supposed to get ugly today so I moved over to mMonument beach where there is better protection As always happens a boat anchored to the side of me pretty close but with wind out of the southeast he was fine this morning i suggested that when winds come in about 10 am from the Northeasti I will be just upwind of him and not able to let any more anchor chain out or be able to add a kellet to my chain (Kellet is a weight you handng on chain to keep the angle low and minimize the chance of dragging) At any rate he did not...

Arrived in Georgetown in the exumas a few days ago. Had to get diesel and water. Only place deep enough for me to get in this area. I need to wait till Thurs for high tide to be at 9 am so i have enough water to get into fuel dock By accident this next week is Reggetta Week here. Boats come from all over to see and be apart of all the races and parties. Today going to make my first visit to volley ball beach. Feb 10, 2013 - Georgetown, Grand Exuma

The last posting ended with me going to do the posting; we were at Black Point. It literally took me an entire afternoon to get the text and pictures uploaded to the web site. On the cays we have visited, the internet is either non-existent or is incredibly slow. We are still figuring out what we need to do to have our own secure wifi. Black Point is a picturesque settlement. Almost all of the homes looked like they had been recently painted (possibly because Hurricane Sandy hit the area) and each was a yellow or lavender or blue or green....

A short stay in Pourt Rico 3 stops and 2 nights in Turks and Caicos. 14 days since we left St. Lucia.I know it doesnt sound far but our average speed has been 5 Knots as we have had to make a few tacks out of our rum line. We are well and in good spirits. John

Feb 27, 2009 - Goodnight Georgetown

Current location: Georgetown, the winter (most southerly) destination for hundreds of cruisers in the Exumas (Bahamas). Current weather: Still warm (high 70’s) and sunny but a front with lots of wind has been here for a few days and it’s been blowing quite hard again (up to 35 knots one night). Favorite boat names seen recently:  Sea Sharp (for our musically oriented friends – the S’s are treble clefs)  Got a Life  Better than Working At 8pm on channel 68 (the hailing channel for cruisers in Georgetown) every night we hear “Goodnight...
