This entry will describe three legs that were less than perfect from a boat stability standpoint. And, as Bill is writing, you must know that it got a little rough. On Monday we left the Gun/Cat Cay port of entry while some less intrepid sailors slept on in the misty light of the new day. All this after telling us that they had to be in Nassau for a crew change by the fifth of the month; a two day trip at their speed. Dec 24, 2008 - Morgan's Bluff

The trip across the Great Bahama Bank was long enough to break into two days. The last time in, we had arrived after dark and anchored where the Andros to Nassau/water barge makes it’s turn. To not repeat that mistake, we anchored on the bank, just short of the Northwest Channel. That evening was Jean’s birthday and we soon had a nice barbecue going. Next, a parade of local fishing boats and mainland gamefishers paraded thru the narrow channel just off our anchorage. The former headed home for the Christmas holidays and the latter outbound...

It was quite inevitable, as you probably detected and one, that when given the option, we were quick to embrace. The weather and conflicting schedules for our delivery captain resulted in us pushing the 'abandon ship' date to May 10th from April 23rd.
