March 23, 2008 Easter Sunday in Costa Rica AFTER the blustery Papagayos We have arrived in Costa Rica… we survived the Papagayos!!! We are journaling from Bahia Santa Elena, our first stop in COSTA RICA!!! After checking the weather ad nauseum from Barillas, El Salvador, we postponed our departure from Thurs to Sat... 3/22/08 . Hi Guys, YEsterday morning headed to playa del coco alittle furter north on the west coast of peninsula. arrived in low season and looked for hostel. all are full - how strange. so found an expensive place round the corner from beach. well after the isolation and the "camping" it is good to indulge in alittle luxury. Jul 24, 2005 - Detour

Ok, so slight detour today...woke up in san juan del sur, nicaragua and decided it just wasnt my scene...beautiful but a very small town full of teenage surfers...so i decided to head south to costa rica. I have been on a quest to go white water rafting, and I read that there was lots of it in costa rica, so headed to the border. Made my way across the border without incident...lots of people told me it took 3 or 4 hours to cross, but it only took me 15 minutes...no lines at all.
