Oct 3, 2006 - Down the coast...

"Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare." Psalm 40:5 I love this verse, and it is specifically meaningful to me right now because I feel exactly like David must have felt when he wrote this verse. I am overwhelmed by all I have seen the Lord do in the past four months. It has been amazing to sit back and watch the things the Lord has planned for us unfold. Each new place we go it is clear to see how the...

Aug 24, 2006 - The real world still exists in paradise

I was in San Jose training for a week for my new job(blah). Even though I am a city girl it does not feel right right now. La Playa es mi casa. (The beach is my house) I am working for a law firm that focuses on real estate. I had a lot of information thrown at me all at once. Corporations, Limitatda, transfers, BIG money transfers, contracts, maritime, concession, legal mumbo jumbo, legal mumbo jumbo, blah blah blah. I kind of got overwhelmed and was thinking it was too boring and linear for me. I can't sit and review legal crap all day. I...

Aug 6, 2006 - Working in Paradise

Things are moving along well. I had to move from one apartment to another because the rent was changing. Apparently, I will have to move about every 4-6 months because the people that own the condos can rent them for mucho dinero per week as opposed to what I am paying per month. My other one was a 2 story, 2 bedrooms, 2 bath place. My new one is a 2 bedroom, one bath, one floor place. Seems like I have been downgraded, however, I really like where I am now. It is the New Yorker in me. Cozier in more quaint places. (See attached - First...

Jul 1, 2006 - Small World

So while I managed to fit in plenty of pool time I also held true to my looking for a job, car, phone, etc. Though I am still without a job, car and phone. I have been great with the "manana" mentality so far but I am getting a little anxious New Yorker on how long "manana" actually is. Ahora (now) means in an hour, 20 minutes means 3 hours, manana means 4 days, next week means a month and soon means it isn't ever going to happen. For those of you with ESPN it is like asking, "When are you moving uptown?" So I have spent a lot of time at...

Jun 21, 2006 - Playa Hermosa and Playa de Coco

The adventure continues . . . After San Jose I hopped a bus to Guanacaste. I love it here. It is so beautiful and tranquil. (See attached - PlayaHermosa) Again, I have met incredible people. Although, this time mostly gringos. I met one girl the first night watching the most incredible sunset I have ever seen. (I haven't figured out how to upload pictures yet but will send one as soon as I can. AMAZING!) She is traveling as a writer for Let's Go travel guide. She is a 19 year old that just finished her first year at Harvard and has her sh*t...
