360 km today headed south from Isafjordur to Laugarbakki, roads were about 40% paved and 60% dirt/gravel. Almost all bridges are one lane, everyone just takes turns in each direction. Of course, traffic is very sparse so there's never much conflict. Started the day at the Arctic Fox Center where volunteers explained about the fox and we saw two young fox at their rehab center. Jun 10, 2016 - Riding the Rapids

This morning we went rafting in the west river Jokulsa, one of the rivers fed by th Hofsjokull glacier. Adam, from Melbourne, Australia was our raft guide and his assistants in the kayaks were from Nepal! There were 4 college students from NY with us, the 3 guys were engineering majors and the girl was a nursing student! We suited up in wet suits with long underwear underneath and wool socks inside our booties. I of course had an extra wetsuit top on! Aug 13, 2010 - Akeruryi to Holmavik

Did we tell you that yesterday the weather turned out to be beautiful?! We registered 20 degrees Celcius! It was nice, warm and sunny! However, this morning we woke up to rain. Breakfast was across the street at another one of the guesthouses owned by our hostess. We came in and the dining room table was crowded with people. No room for us!
