After leaving the delights of Nelson we left our little car behind, packed up our tent and headed off to treck along the coastal path of Abel Tasman National Park for 2 days and a night. This part of New Zealand is stunning and has been one of the highlights of the South Island. The coast is a line of small sandy bays which get more idylic the further into the park you go. Dec 11, 2004 - The Abel Tasman National Park

The weather having beaten last time we were here this was our last chance to do a proper walk or 'tramp' as the kiwi's call it, in the Abel Tasman National Park so we were going come hail or shine. The amazing thing is that for 3 days the NZ weather finally redeemed itself and we had the most wonderful weather in possibly the most gorgeous of all the places we've seen so far on our travels.
