Apr 29, 2018 - Casino Row

After a breakfast of biscuits and gravy, we decided to drive to Laughlin to check out our next campground. We had heard it was quite a climb to get up to it (appropriately named Ridgeview!) so wanted to see what we were getting into before we had the trailer with us. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that, while it is a climb, it was a gradual one. It is also in Bullhead City, on the Arizona side of the river, and not where we were expecting it to be. It looks to be recently renovated with large sites, and again, not much in the way...

Apr 27, 2018 - Moving Day

Today was moving day, but as we only had around 75 miles to go we didn't get too excited about a timely departure. On the other hand, as we have pared down our stuff and gotten more proficient about packing, we got away a bit earlier than our usual 10 o'clock start time. Yay! After saying goodbye to our new friends, Mike and Caron, we were on our way to Fort Mohave, ArRizona. After a quick stop by the Walmart on our way out of town to pick up prescription refills, we had a leisurely drive to our next campground, Riverside Adventures, in...

Apr 16, 2018 - Our stay in Bullhead City, AZ

Saturday 4/14/2018 Today we left Prescott Arizona and drove approx 187 miles to Bull Head city, Arizona to the Silverview RV resort located on a hill overlooking the Colorado River across from Laughlin, Nevada Just a short ride to many Casino’s located along the river. A beautiful board walk along the river connects to all the Casino’s so you may enjoy a nice walk along the river and then duck into one of several Casino’s for a cool beverage along the way. We need to take the Motor Home in for an Oil Change and some work on the Muffler...

Feb 16, 2018 - Silver View RV Resort

Well after a most enjoyable month at FOY it was time to move on down the road. We decided to try here as we had never stayed here in Bullhead city before and we are glad we did. The park is perched on a hill over looking Laughlin and the river. You can feel the difference in the air with the water being close. We seem to have left most of the blowing sand/dust behind us. Sure the good old CBC for Olympic coverage, Americans don't get it too much. Did you see a Russian curler got caught for doping, a curler come on what's with that. Kind of...

Apr 11, 2017 - Some Days Nothing Goes Right

We are actually in Fort Mohave, kind of a suburb of Bullhead City, and still near the Colorado River. It was not our first choice (that would have been Needles) but this will do. We got packed, drove 78 miles and got unpacked again in pretty good time. But after working to get the Dish satellite set up with no success and no luck with technical support over the telephone, we called it a day. So this morning we had an appointment at the Chevy dealerdhip to look at the truck. The power steering unit had gone from bad to worse since we did not...

Fun between jobs

Dec 10, 2016 - From Missouri to Paradise NOT!

Before we left the Grand Canyon, I was so excited that I finally found the perfect place to spend the winter and made our reservations in the middle of Bullhead City Arizona. It was pricey but I thought that it’d be worth spending the $423 a month plus Elec to stay at a large (250 sites) rv park with all the amenities (full hookups, great view, Wi-Fi, cable TV, shower suites, pool, gym, laundry, and a deli), as well as shopping and things to do close by (some within walking distance). While we were in Michigan, we were unsure as to when the...

Nov 18, 2016 - 3 days in Bullhead City

We checked into Fiesta RV Park in Bullhead City just across the Colorado River from Laughlin, Nevada. The staff at the park were very helpful in advising us on local repair companies to call to check out the damage from the power surge. RV & Trailer Repair, the first one we called apologized for not being able to come out right away but gave us advice on how to keep the battery charged so we could have light in the trailer. He arrived promptly the next morning, checked everything out, replaced the power converter, sent John to buy a $1.50...

Mar 19, 2016 - Bullhead City, Arizona

Our first day out of Bosque del Apache was not a very strenuous one – we only went as far as Truth or Consequences (T or C), New Mexico, a trip of about one hour duration. One of the places we had planned on visiting while we were at Bosque was SpacePort America. Since Jon has had a long-time interest in space, we didn’t want to pass up this opportunity. It is the first and currently the only “purpose built commercial spaceport” in the world. There are several in the planning or approval stage, but none have broken ground. Although there...

Mar 10, 2016 - Silver View RV Resort (3/6/16)

We have not been to Bullhead City before. It is right across the Colorado River from Laughlin, NV. We haven't been there before, either. We are staying at Silver View which sits on top of a hill and looks out over the river to Laughlin. It is quite a view from up here. As we were getting set-up and settled, our neighbors stopped by. Donna and Mike are from British Columbia, Canada. They are a very nice couple who are rather new to the full time RV life. They had friends meeting them there for a few days. We stayed for only one night and...

Apr 11, 2015 - Bullhead City, Arizona

We are staying right now just outside of Bullhead City on the Colorado river. A lovely campground which is part of Lake Meade NRA, very quiet, secluded and all around us are blooming Oleander trees. The weather is perfect with temperatures constant around 28C. We celebrated Easter with our cousins and worshipped at the United Reformed Church. What a contrast with Good Friday when we were at a little bible church in the mountains. There a small congregation of about 20, a pastor who preached a fitting simple message but alsi accompanied the...

Escaping Freeseland

Nov 13, 2014 - Bullhead City, AZ

Bullhead City, AZ The day started out cooler than the previous two days. We opted to follow the old Route 66 to Kingman. The major difference from going on I-40 is the slower pace on Route 66 and close up view of the small run down towns along the way. It reminded us of the Cars movie. At noon we set up camp at the Davis Camp Park located on the Colorado River just below Davis Dam. Not very many people here and we enjoyed soaking in the 80 degree sunshine before doing some chores. On the way out we out of the RV park we spotted a couple of...

Apr 6, 2014 - Bullhead City,Az.

Wind almost everyday. Sunny though. Went across the river to Laughlin. Visited some of the casinos and walked their riverwalk. No shops or anything, just a sidewalk along side of the Colorado. Beautiful scenery from our viewpoint makes it easy to stay put.
