i finally made it out of arizona and finished today at us-60 milepost 18 in new mexico, motto “the land of enchantment”. so far it doesn’t look too much different – i’m still in the high plains (~7500 elevation) with occasional forested areas. from a walking standpoint, though, there is a lot less traffic and the shoulders are a lot wider, so i’m feeling pretty safe so far. you might even say, enchanted...... people news: first, i got some great help from raj, the proprietor (for the last 14 years) of the ‘americas best value inn’ in...

Jul 8, 2011 - Overnight May 10th at Quemado Lake, NM

We stopped at Quemado Lake, located about 20 miles south of the town of Quemado on NM highways 32 and 103, in western New Mexico for an overnight on May 10th. We stayed in the National Forest Service Juniper Campground with water and electric service and a nice site for $9.00
